Beneath the genial exterior is a highly focussed former Le Mans 24 Hour winner and Formula One driver. Richard competed for BRM, Lotus and Cooper in F1 and later with Ford, Ferrari and Porsche in world sportscar series. In 1970 he took Porsche’s first ever outright victory at Le Mans driving alongside Hans Hermann.

Richard now races historic cars, consults to some of the automotive industry’s leading players and teaches sportscar and historic car owners how to bring their beloved vehicles home quickly and safely. He also runs Porsche trackdays alongside compatriot Nick Arnold.
